A brief history of the school
School Background
Frances Vorwerg School for learners with cerebral palsy and learning disabilities was built by the Department of National Education in 1971. The original Frances Vorwerg School was built by the Department of Education in the Crown Mines area, the new school was established in 1979.

Mrs. Frances Vorwerg, whose name is synonymous with the care of children with cerebral palsy, was instrumental in establishing a multi-disciplinary service model for schools for learners with cerebral palsy. We are proud to carry her legacy into the future.

Race for Victory

We have been hosting the Race for Victory for the past 25 years. This is a well-known cycling event where more than 2000 cyclists compete. It is also a seeding event for the Cape Town Cycle race.
