Frances Vorwerg Sport
Here at Frances Vorwerg school, we have a variety of sports to choose
from and everyone can participate.
From
our able-bodied learners to those with various physical disabilities. We aim to develop our learners holistically. A healthy body breeds a healthy mind and visa
versa.
The sports offered at Frances Vorwerg School is divided into two
components, namely Able-bodied sport and Sport for the Differently abled. We practice different sport codes throughout
the year.
Able-bodied sport
LSEN Athletics
GAVBO: January – March.
Gauteng LSEN schools.
LSEN Netball
All girls: April – May.
Against the following
schools:
SOA, Lantern, Destinata and WK du Plessis.
GP LSEN MID Football league
Senior boys: April –
July.
Against the following
schools:
Randeor, Elandspark and Gressworld.
Athletes can qualify for
provincial team to participate at Nationals during September holiday.
GP LSEN MID Cross country
Senior boys and girls:
June – August.
All Gauteng MID schools
compete.
Players can qualify for
provincial team to participate at Nationals during September holiday.

Sport for differently

Para athletics
GSAPD August – February
Athletes compete in
trials with all disabled Gauteng athletes to qualify for Nationals.
National championships during
March holidays and will be hosted in the Western Cape in 2023.
CP soccer league
GSAPD Senior boys: May –
November.
Compete against CP
schools and clubs in Gauteng.
Trials for the provincial
team which will lead to National team selection.
Boccia
GSAPD August – February
Athletes compete in
trials with all Gauteng athletes to qualify for provincial team for Nationals will
take place from August-January.
Lance, Slalom and para-cycling for athletics
in term 1 and term 3
