Curriculum

We aim to keep classes below 17 learners per class in order to facilitate individual attention.

NCS CAPS

We offer the NCS CAPS (the same curriculum as offered in the mainstream) to learners in Gr. RR-9. English Home Language and Afrikaans First Additional Language are compulsory subjects.

TECHNICAL OCCUPATIONAL CURRICULUM (TOC)

Learners with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities follow the TOC program from the age of 14 years. They complete an Orientation year and then exit the program at Year 4 (18 years of age) Learners can choose between Maintenance, Office Administration and Food production. A variety of short courses are also offered eg. Welding, Barista Training, Baking etc.

DIFFERENTIATED CAPS (GR. R – GR. 5)

The DCAPS program only caters for learners with physical disabilities who are severely intellectually disabled. Learners enter the program at the age of seven years and exit at the age of 18 years. A variety of Life Skills and Crafts are taught with the assistance of occupational therapists.
